Hi:

I am curious as to why you posted your story about leaving the church? Was it just to make your bishop look bad? Had he been your buddy over the years, would you had stayed a member? It sounded that way. You came across to me as a whining little baby. Someone has to hang out with you all of the time to be your friend? A neighbor can't be a friend? Did you guys wave to each other in passing? I suppose this bishop was suppose to chase you around and wipe your butt all the time, huh?

You're as pathetic as the jerks who degrade my religion at General Conference. I watch conference on television because I'd have no problem kicking the crap out of someone degrading what I hold as sacred.

I will give you this, I appreciate your warning on your site. Knowing what people are getting into is helpful and respectful.

Good luck in your search for truth.

What Is Wrong With Teaching Values Of Parents In The Ensign

What is wrong with teaching values of parents in the ENSIGN? With all the sickness in the world, you turn around with your sick mind, and cut down a faith that teach strong families. You need some serious help, Bubba.

You need to find something better to do with your time. You are rehashing things that have been rehashed, and rehashed, and you need to get a life. Your analysis of my faith is totally wrong--based on erroneous assumptions, hearsay and numerous other fallacies and name calling.

By the way, as many cities, downtown core areas are loosing business due to malls out in the outlying area. There is goodness in the LDS coming forth to help build downtown Salt Lake City. You may want to check, but the LDS Church already owns the land in question. For your information, most stores in Salt Lake that are LDS owned (by members) are closed on Sunday. So, what! The Bible teaches to rest on Sunday -- so we are practicing Biblical standards. I see nothing wrong with that. For the LDS church to bring in businesses to help the core area develop, bring in new businesses, students (as with a BYU-Salt Lake Center) is a "good thing." Your attitude is a "sicko" bad thing...and you ought to chill out man. And Bubba, it is common for an organization to give to various causes. You're opinions are wrong that the LDS is not helping people, by building the downtown core area. Another erroneous assumption by your deluded mind. 1. If the church helps business (even NON-LDS businesses) it is helping the poor in Utah, providing jobs, taxes, etc. 2. The LDS Church sends out millions to various relief funds throughout the] world, and not just LDS members. 3. LDS members themselves donate money, time and talents to their communities, and they freely give of their tithing for the church to use (and if the church provides money for the downtown area from tithing -- so what? Big deal. It is helping downtown Salt Lake City get back on its feet. 4. LDS members in need are given church help, which keeps them off of Federal aid. I could go on and on....

Holy Crap!!!

What a bunch of whining, childish, stupidity. Oh, and dishonest too.

To all you mormon hating whiners:

One: You?re not special or new; mormon haters have been around since 1820.

Two: You are not modern day gnostics You don?t have any special knowledge. Most of the your "anti" crap has been around for 150 years; disproved and debunked and exposed as lies over and over again but it doesn?t stop mormon haters from recycling it over and over again. The kinderhook plates? The golden pot? Give us a break! It seems that nothing stops a mormon hater from believing anything that supports his hatred.

Three: Condemning members of the church for their faults is like condemning the patients in the hospital for being sick or injured. If you don?t understand the metaphor, never mind.

Four: "Mormonhaters.net" is available. Why don?t you show a little honesty and change your site name? Unfortunately, the more self-descriptive "Morons.com" is not available to you?pity.

Five: As far as coming back: don?t bother. You will never be able to undo the damage you have done and you will never be able to take back the help you have given Satan in his efforts to destroy this work. You belong to him now. File this Email under "stuff to read while I?m lifting up my eyes in hell"

I hope it?s refreshing to find out that, although most mormons are always ready to offer you the proverbial hand of friendship (which I know you find annoying), there are a few of us who will only offer you a proverbial hand clenched into a proverbial fist and aimed at your proverbial nose. Here?s the math: it?s OK to hate evil; traitors and persecutors of the truth are evil; therefore I hate you.

Bye now.

Blogging the Ex-Mormon and Mormon World?

That's a laugh. Blogging of idiots, maybe.

The subhead should be "Aimlessly Bashing the Mormon World".

Recovery?? That's an even bigger joke. You mean recovery from a moral life back to a do whatever you want one? To a let's hate the Mormons one? I doubt you were ever a serious member. The main articles on the site show no indication of real knowledge of how the church works or what it's members believe.

I mean really. What's with totally unfounded malarky like this?:

Maybe he was laughing so hard at the easy life, he wasn't paying attention? It must be that damn nepotism biting him in the ass or the eye!! Interesting isn't it?!! At least we know that the Church will take care of the bills and surgeries, so no worries there!! At least the Mormon God looks after his anointed in that regard!!

Nepotism is a ridiculous term to use, since no position in the church heirarchy goes to descendants or relations except where earned by longstanding service in the organization, as every member knows.

All that garbage about the easy life?

The Prophet is 95 years old and travels thousands of miles a year in order to keep the church running and to address followers, as well as the umpteen thousand other things he and the other top General Authorities have to accomplish. These guys are all getting on in years and working very hard. I'd like to see you manage that kind of schedule at 95 with the limited amenities of even a 1st class comercial jet, and having to go through all those security checks and everything else involved with world travel. In yer dreams.

And what leader of an organization so large doesn't have perks to simplify his life and work.

I can't believe the completely wrongheaded idiocy of all the nonsense on this site. It's not even an effective anti-mormon site. It seems like an anti-mormon site for really superficial simple minded goobers. Taking literal what's not, vice versa, and both where obvious. It nit picks every little detail as if the church and Prophet are supposed to be flawless. It's sludge.

Take this bit of slop, for instance: I know this is like shooting fish in a barrel, but I just ran across another of Hinkley's statements that just strike me as so obvious he doesn't prophesy, "see," or reveal anything:

(April 2001 General Conference) "I am so grateful that we live in an era of comparative peace. There are no great wars raging across the world. There is trouble here and there but not a great worldwide conflict. We are able to carry the gospel to so many nations of the earth and bless the lives of the people wherever it goes." (Given only 5 months before September 11th)

Just like when he was on Larry King the day before the tsunami struck Southeast Asia, he is oblivious. He should be embarrassed for himself. I can imagine him thinking "Come ON Lord! Just ONCE couldn't you give me a heads up on something?"

Utter BS*. All this proves is that you are either ignoring, or just plain don't know some of the very most basic concepts of church doctrine. I suspect you are intentionally leaving your knowledge or brain behind, because it would show up what stupidity this post was.

According to doctrine of the church, the purpose of a mortal life is partially to be tested. Because of that, it would be antithetical to the purpose of a Prophet to warn everybody of everything bad that was to happen. Not to mention, it would be utterly ridiculous for him to waste all his time prophesying the zillions of bad things coming. It would be more than all the members of the church could do. A thousand, ten thousand, or a hundred thousand prophets couldn't do it.

He is only charged with prophesying, seeing, and revealing those things which are necessary for members to know in order to do God's will and get to heaven.

Nothing and no one is expecting him to foresee everything that's to come. It's obvious when you read what church authorities write, including Joseph Smith himself, that he often only receives knowledge when he first asks God a question. Revelations come in response, as is quite evident from umpteen parts of the Doctrine and Covenants.

As far as the direct quote, note the word comparatively. There truly are no large scale wars going on at this time. You mention 9/11. That's NOT a war. That's an act of terrorism. As for the "war" in Iraq and that in Afghanistan, as you point out, the statement was prior to them. If you weren't just another ticked off dipstick with your head up your ass*, you'd also be pointing out that its very fundamental from prophecy and scripture that the "last days" will be a time of "wars and rumors of wars".

Comparatively, the "wars" in the Middle East are very small. Tens of thousands perhaps being killed in a population of over 6 billion on the planet! Nothing compared to the scale or numbers of WWII with 57,000,000 losing their lives; or in comparison to Viet Nam, or Korea. It's all exactly what he says. "not a great worldwide conflict." Additionally, his statement about the gospel is correct. Many nations have begun allowing missionaries to at least do humanitarian work, if not proselyte.

Your final comment on the quote is utterly assinine, because you are deigning to speak for God. I didn't see where you claim to be a prophet yourself. Yet you imply that either God wants people to know about big bad events to come, or that it's the place of a prophet to reaveal them. Both just WRONG! And any further knowledge, you can't know without knowing the mind of God.

This site is really an utter waste of time and effort. All these "articles" are nothing but one pissed persons' rants and contain nothing of any substance. They don't even remotely show any knowledge whatever of what the LDS church actually believes or what it's members are taught.

What a major-league asshole* you are, sir!

Likewise for the rest of the dimwits who contribute their bullshit* to the pile!

*(ooh, i said bad word. I may be a lousy, innactive church member, but i've been among and around members all my life. It doesn't even take significant inside knowledge to know 90% of this sites content is just flat out bullshit ranting. Even among anti-mormon sites this has got to be the most pathetic i've ever visited.)

I like your title "hatemail". It's pretty close to how I feel but "contempt" might be a little more accurate.

When I deal with those who attack MY church I am often reminded of a not very Christian bumper sticker I once had.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY I DRIVE, GET THE HELL OFF MY SIDEWALK.

That's how I sometimes look at those who attack from the outside. If you don't like what we believe and how we govern ourselves then stay away from us. If you don't like the church influence in Salt Lake or Utah then go someplace else or quit chur bitchin. Remember we settled it, we improved it and to a great degree we own it. That includes not only what the church owns but its observant members.

The LDS church is not one filled entirely with gentle souls who would let others walk over them. In fact the majority of them are rather forward and even agressive. A couple of anti-Mormon demonstrators at conference got roughed up a while back and I see the reason for trying to control the demonstrators is to keep even more of them from running into some big, tough crapped off farm boy.

I have found over the years (I'm no kid) that those who leave the church and then attack it are usually (not always) covering fro some real or perceived failure of their own. They are simply losers.

I think of the criticism of the present prophet. I have even on occaision disagreed with some of the policies - I grumble and go along. But I am constantly amazed at a man of his age doing what he does - even with help and resources.

I am absolutely convinced of the truth and divine mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have lived for it, served it and I have always felt the confirmation of the spirit when I am doing what I should be doing and the cold feeling of loss and failure when I don't do what I should.

Is the church perfect? Yes. Will it change? Yes. Why does something perfect need to change from time to time? Because the needs of its imperfect members change and must be met by a loving God and living prophets.

Am I perfect? Not even close, but I'm working on it.

One thing is certain. When those who hate or have rejected the church and I stand before the judgment of God, and we will, I will tell them "I told you so!"

I don't hate for having this site, actually it made me laugh because of all the misinformation and sillyness. I am a former journalist for CNN Headline and WINS network, I am lds (coverted age 12 from NY). My husband as I state below, is a descendant of Joseph Smith. With that said I have access to documents, journals and insights that the average mo doesnt have. But even before this I knew he was a prophet God and the real deal .After viewing and studying for years these journals etc. I believe without an iota of doubt he is a Prophet. A lot of what you say is out of context and very limited thinking. Open your mind, and really research science, math, history and atronomy. Do you really think it is that far fetched to believe in the plan of salvation, visitation from angels etc. eternal progression...If you understood ancient and modern history, you would come to the same conclusion that its all real and true as I have years ago. Instead of pushing it all aside because of the human aspect of the institutional church. I mean the everyday mo's with warts and all~we are all part of the human family and all of us suffer, have joy, get sick, have faults sin etc. I hope that you eventually find what you are looking for. I am surprised at anyone writing with such hate and disdain. I do dislike ignorance, so I'll simply state that ignorance is dangerous. blind ignorance can be a high price to pay. below is my original post as seen on latter day lampoon addressing a poster who was complaining about "and it came to pass."

I certainly don't hate you and feel strange sending this under the banner of hate mail, but feel the need to protest the assertion that my dad, Kim Clark, left Harvard for BYU Idaho because of greed. You put forward the opinion that my dad did this because he hopes some day to rise to higher levels of LDS leadership and be on easy street. Easy street? You are misinformed. The life of the Dean of HBS is much more luxurious than that of President of BYU Idaho, of even a member of the First Presidency. But that aside, I know my father and he is not a man motivated by greed, nor is he a brainwashed fool. I am familiar with the many issues that your site has with Mormonism and am not bothered at all by your airing of those issues. However, I feel that to seek to smear the integrity of someone you do not know because of their religious beliefs is wrong. There are ways to put forward your complaints with Mormon doctrine and how the church is run, I would simply suggest that you refrain from personal attacks unless you have firsthand experience with the individual.

Love Letters From Daniel C. Peterson

Dear Brother Infymus:

Our exchange is now up on the SHIELDS web site. The public can see how mean, vicious, dishonest, and unreasonable I am, and, by contrast, how committed to truth, kindness, painstaking research, and reasonable discussion you are.

With best wishes,

Dan Peterson

- -

Dear Infymus:

I was just pointed to your blog, and found it interesting. When I get some time, I'll read through all of the stuff that you have there about me.

However, in the meanwhile I would like to correct a misstatement at your site: "Daniel C. Peterson," you say, "is paid directly by the Mormon Church to contradict, counteract, suppress, withhold and dismiss any claims made by persons outside the LDS Church."

This is not true.

First, I'm not paid "directly by the Mormon Church" at all. I'm paid by Brigham Young University, as are all other professors and staff at the University (including those who are not Latter-day Saints). Thus, at best, I'm indirectly paid by the Mormon Church. This is less dramatic than your formulation, but it’s more accurate.

Second, no part of my salary -- absolutely none, not a dime -- comes from my apologetic undertakings. I am a professor of Islamic studies and Arabic at Brigham Young University, situated in the Department of Asian and Near Eastern Languages:

http://asiane.byu.edu/arabic/index.ph...

Additionally, I am the founder, editor-in-chief, and director of the University's Middle Eastern Texts Initiative:

http://meti.byu.edu/

Formerly, I was also the director of the Center for the Preservation of Ancient Religious Texts, overseeing projects to digitize manuscripts in the Vatican Apostolic Library, in various monastic libraries in Lebanon, and elsewhere, as well as our on-going work on creating electronic databases for the Dead Sea Scrolls. I have, however, now turned that responsibility over to another.

My salary comes from these activities. I receive no salary whatsoever from dealing with critics of Mormonism.

I trust that you will correct your misstatement soon. I’m sure that you’re committed to truth and accuracy.

With best wishes,

Daniel Peterson

I suppose I will have to put it here...

Why are you so utterly clueless about translation (or literature) to think that "Adieu" is an inappropriate word for the BofM?

"Adieu" appears frequently in 19th century American literature. The BofM is translated into 19th century American English. Therefore, it is OK to use "adieu" in the book!

This is not complicated people. It doesn't require Dan Peterson's erudite abilities in Mideastern languages to tell you this. Whatever the term was in Jacob, if it meant, God be With You Till We Meet Again (in the afterlife), then "adieu" is perfect. (At least when FARMS waves its Webster's Dictionary, it is using real logic, unlike your logic-free objection that "adieu" is stupid, because, well, its stupid.)

If you want to slam Joseph Smith and the Mormons, and everyone else of us for being idiots, that's fine with me. BUT USE A REAL ARGUMENT! Please!

Read your hate mail about the mormons...I don't agree with you. In my perspective they are the most correct church in what they teach,

I have met several of them and they are clean upright people that don't find time in their lives to bash anyone. If you are so unhappy...get professional help.

I am sure they didn't put a gun to your head to join in their beliefs. Seems to me you need to demean someone to feel good about yourself. If you are a secure person in what you belief, there is no need to belittle others of their beliefs. Again, you need professional help in whatever really ails you, it's not the mormons and their beliefs...it might be something deeper.

The only think you are gaining here is the curiosity of people who are seeking the true church and you are driving them to investigate the mormon church. Hooray for you on that. If you don't respond to this email could it be because, "you don't have the b_ _ _s?

You aren't interested in discussion, truth or issues. You are simply a loose cannon looking for an LDS target to hit, even those that you manufacture in your own mind.

Do you honestly expect those who wish to contribute to the mutually shared goal of this forum to sit idly by while you post adolescent prank images without protesting them?

Perhaps you take pleasure in posting "soft porn graphics" on internet forums while you count your beers however, there are those who will not lend their screen name nor be affiliated with a board that is being presented to LDS as carrying "soft porn graphics" and that includes me.

Keep the garbage on your own site where it belongs.

Hello again

Did you enjoy your holiday? Go anywhere nice with your placard like Salt Lake City did you? Pick up any fresh new converts? No...what a shame!

Maybe you will see them in hell along with Cain and Judas Iscariot.

What really rankles (sorry do you know what that word means) with me is that all of your so-called evidence against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is either old or just plain stupid. The Spaulding Manuscript is as old as time itself. If you ever read the thing (which I have out of curiosity) you would know that it bears no resemblance to the Book Of Mormon. Just another ignorant, stupid, BRAINWASHED Mormon, huh.

What problem do you have with the Church? What gives you the right to give people WRONG advice? Do you get a kick out of kicking the Church?

All of the false doctrine you use is either out-of-date or nonsensical. All of it is used in Anti-Mormon Doctrine which I have seen plenty of in my time as full-time missionary. For your information I AM NOT BRAINWASHED!!! Neither am I deluded. I am a perfectly rational human being who thinks that this website is crap and should be kicked off the net. I suppose that would be out of the question due to the amount of people that need your 'help'and the profit you get from setting up this site. You are just as bad as the Pharisees in Jesus' time if not worse because you knew the truth and turned away from it. Not only that but you have decided to take it upon yourself to turn on the Church as if it is either evil or confused in its doctrine. The point is that it is neither of those things. You are not the original critic of the Church and you certainly would not be the last.

At the end of the day, mate, you will be the one on the losing side. Not us. So why don't you just give up the fight.

Chris

p.s. I have actually seen your profile on the web and you are just the type I thought you'd be. By the way, if you want to teach your children correct principles get back to Church

Reply with an intelligent answer this time, if you can

Yours insincerely

Very convenient. Especially since you are helping the obviously emotionally sick and deluded members of The Church Of Jesus Christ get over themselves and see the light (or not as the case might be). Someone once said on your website that if they didn't believe in The Gospel they wouldn't believe in God at all.

Yeah, that's great logic, that is. Back in the 30's a group of European intellectuals came to the same conclusion (including Sartre and Salvador Dali). They wanted to find the true meaning of life but excluded God from the start. As a result, these 'learned' men got a bit confused. Some of them killed themselves trying to find the meaning of life.

SO what does that tell me. There were no well meaning bishops 'harrassing' them. No home teachers trying to do what's right by reaching out. Only themselves and nothing else.

I am a returned missionary who has been through a lot in my life. My faith and testimony has been tried like anybody else's. What I can't understand is why any returned missionary or long-standing member can get so emotionally hung up over little insignificant points of doctrine.

It annoys me to think that somebody like you has the audacity to claim that you are helping people with struggling testimonies when in reality you are nursing an old hurt and want to strike out at the Church of Jesus Christ. You will come off loser. This is the last you will hear from me so post this on your hate mail if you want. I don't care!!!!

All the best

I'll be happy to add to your hatemail. You're a fucking idiot. I enjoyed browsing your site and strengthening my testimony though. Was a great way to end my sabbath after coming home from a mission homecoming. At what point in your life did you commit adultery and deny the truth???? The scriptures tell me that that is most likely exactly what you did.

The Mormon Mailbag: Please Abstain From Calling The Church Of Jesus Christ A Cult. You Have Not Factual Evidence Of This Kind Of Statement.

Topic: HATE MAIL I RECEIVE   -Link To MC Article-
It has been a while since I received some email mail from a Mormon.

This is an unfortunate, typical Mormon mindset. Note the perception that postings are bitter - therefore it confirms they are wrong. Everyone who leaves the Mormon Cult left because of sin - or they were offended. I need to be ashamed because of my sinful behavior. Notice how anything that disagrees with Mormonism is considered contentious? Also note how he thinks that the members are imperfect, but the Cult is true - and how he completely ignores factual evidence in the contrary.

There are roughly 5 people on the MC that have been excommunicated - and not a single one of them was due to the desire to sin. Most were excommunicated in order to shut them up for exposing the truth about Mormonism.

Oh and yes, Mormonism does fit the definition of a cult: 1 - Scripture Twisting, 2 - Controlling Leader/Leadership, 3 - Separation/Isolation, 4 - "The Chosen Few" mindset, 5 - Uniformity of Lifestyle, 6 - No dissension allowed and 7 - Traumatic Departure. http://neirr.org/s7-aber2.html.

This is how Mormons think inside the box and anything on the outside is sinful, contentious and offensive. I have highlighted the basic parts. This is the exact mindset that I had when I was a Cult member of Mormonism - and these were the principals taught to us as Mormons.
If someone challenged me to describe mormonism in one word......I'd have to go with "cult-like'

Starting with testimony meetings, temple recommends, secret oaths, paswords, uniform underwear, "apostates" and the heartache caused when someone leaves... Well, cult-like is the only word that sums it all up.
From Jeremy Paul, Re: Mormon Curtain... Why?

I would just like to state that I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of my life and I am here to say that some of the material on your "Mormon Curtain" site is definitely not true. Not to mention it is of no beneficial worth to anyone except possibly those who would like to bond together with others in their bitterness against the church for some wrong they feel the church has done them. The fact of the matter is that not one of the comments on this site has been given by someone who has not severely broken the commandments of God, which are established to help his children be happy. This is evident because of the unhappiness that so clearly is in the lives of those whose comments are posted on this site. This is not a hate-mail reply, but rather one to help you get your facts straight.

First of all it is my opinion that your site does nothing but reemphasize the fact that the LDS church is true. All of your postings by X-communicated mormons or those who have X-communicated themselves are filled with bitterness and they are very vengeful in their comments. This just confirms to everyone who reads this that those X-communicated mormons are in the wrong because of the manner in which they make their comments. It is only the devil that would want to cause strife and contention between God's children. It is plain to see that many of the postings on your site are posted by people filled with the spirit of contention.

The fact of the matter is that the church of Jesus Christ is filled with individuals that are imperfect and the falsehoods of this site are to relate the imperfect behavior of some as the way the church operates. Of course their are some bad apples in the bunch just like every organization or maybe there are even some who are downright horrible, but the church as a whole is a wonderful institution formed by God to further his gospel and plan of salvation. It is no cult and you should be ashamed of yourself to have let your own bitterness and the bitterness of others against the church (because of your own sinful behavior) to have led you to state such a falsehood. By looking deeper into the church you will find there are really no secrets, but a desire to enlighten and uplift all of humanity as God would do himself.

The the reasons you give to define Mormonism as a cult are not only specious, but they are totally unfounded. They are given as fact, but really are nothing more than personal slander by those who have been offended in some way. Your "facts" are one sided and biased to an alarming degree and as a result are quite shameful to yourself for stating them as such.

We as a church and its members who are striving to live the gospel have joy and peace in our lives. It is only when you sway from those commandments that you start to feel antagonistic towards the church and it's leaders. You in such behavior your display the opposite of humility, the opposite of charity, the opposite of doing that which is uplifting for mankind. In essence this behavior leads you to act in a way that is everything in contrary to what the Savior, himself taught. He taught to be humble, submissive, and meek as a little child. That is out of the BIBLE so you can't argue with that. Nowhere ever did He mention to tear down the beliefs of others, but to accept others with open arms. We all have faults. None of us is without spot or without need of our Savior in our lives. So instead of wasting all this time and effort promoting this site which tears others down, why don't you spend more time dedicated to serving your fellow man. You will find happiness in your life and you won't have the desire tounleash the bitterness found on your website.

Jesus, would not want you to be wasting time "exposing" any religion as a cult. There is not enough time to focus on the negative. We must focus on the positive in life. Tearing down others does nothing constructive and certainly does not make you a better person. This is something that most people learn from their parents in grade school. Please abstain from calling the Church of Jesus Christ a cult. You have not factual evidence of this kind of statement.
Thanks Jeremy. You may now go back to paying, praying and obeying.

Dear ?

This is how I must address you, because you are so devious and cunning that you don't even list your real name. I'm not ashamed to tell you I am a member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints, and nothing in this world or the next will change my love for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and all the garbage you post and print will come back to bite you, (you know where). You can fill in rhe blank. I can just imagine that you are very busy, Satan never sleeps, and since you are one of his greatest advocates, you don't have much time for anything but trashing, bashing and are totally inept of the things you write about. One day, (it may not be in this life), but you will finally come to a knowledge of the truth, but with all the evil you have caused, the Lord will place a very heavy judgement upon your head!! You say that your website is not an anti-Mormon site, but that's exactly what it is.

All those who contribuite to your cause, (and I'm sure you are making quite a lucrative living by raping the beliefs of good Latter-day Saints, and not fully understanding our beliefs, (as if you would really want to bother finding out the truth, anyway), but then you wouldn't have any more fun trashing my Church. You don't even know the meaning of the scripture you talked about on Baptism for the dead.

The only other thing I have to add is: SHOW ME A BETTER WAY, and I'LL LEAVE THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS and FOLLOW WHAT YOU TEACH. But that will never happen, because neither you or any other person of theology on this great earth can show me or anybody else that there is a better way. It just cannot be done. I just want to bear you my testimony that I know The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints is ther only true Church on the face of the earth, and why do you think we work so hard to do the work for the dead? It is becauser God is not a God of confusion. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He said "For behold, this is My work and My glory-- to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man".

Think about it, doesn’t God love all His children? Doesn't He want them to return to live with Him? What other way , other than preparing a way that those who have never heard of Jesus Christ to hear about him? Irregardless of what you think, Joseph Smith did not imagine anything that he brought forth, because he only had a third grade education. It would be utterly impossible for him to "make up" all the writings and scripture he brought forth. I would challenge the most brilliant and gifted writers in the world to even attempt to produce even an iota of what he produced. The Church has been persecuted from day 1, and will continue to be until the end of time, but take note, it will continue to grow, and nothing will ever stop it until the Savior comes once again. By the way, do you believe in God? Just wondering, due to the great lengths to downgrade and cause so much hatred toward the Church. No true man of God would carry on such a campaign to trash other belivers in God!! I guess I am finished for now. You probably won't waste your time reading this, but at least I wrote to you about how I feel.

Amatuer Mormon Apologist "Simon Belmot" Demands, "Take Down The Mormon Curtain"
Wednesday, Oct 20, 2010, at 07:56 AM
Original Author(s): Infymus
Topic: HATE MAIL I RECEIVE   -Link To MC Article-
Recently an amateur Mormon Apologist who does not use his real name demanded that I take down the Mormon Curtain.

He wrote:
"Bcause you spend "5-8 hours per week gathering information from ANTI LDS sites, including MDB, and any other site that is anti-Mormonism. Placed all of those in one atrocious looking website. Paid for the website. Paid for the gigabytes of information you are hosting. Then, worked for nearly six years maintaining, gathering and updating that website. These are not the actions of an honorable man, they are the actions of a true bigot."

"In the end, Infymus, whether you believe in God or not, your actions will speak for you for generations to come. There will come a time when you must ask yourself: Were you the person building bridges between ex-Mormons and Mormons, or where you the tantrum-throwing child who spent a good chunk of his life dedicated to hating it. You are not human -- to be human you must have compassion."

"Take down Mormon Curtain, take it down before it consumes your soul, take it down because it is the right thing to do. We have enough hate in the world -- you can either add to it, or take away from it. The choice is yours and I sincerely hope you make the right one."
No Simon. The Mormon Curtain will stay up. And there is good reason for it.

I have helped thousands of people get out of Mormonism. I have helped countless others make the right decision in NOT joining. I have dedicated a great deal of time and resources to helping those who have left your church - recover. I have watched the lives of those who have read the MC change and become more positive. I have provided recovery forums where Mormons and Ex-Mormons can share their stories find companionship and friendship - and ultimately, recover from the destructive influences of the Mormon Corporation. I have shed tears along those that have been shunned by your organization, people who have been treated like trash by people like YOU - simply for questioning their faith. I have shed tears alongside people who have lost family members because of statements made by bigoted leaders such as Boyd K. Packer.

The MC isn't consuming my soul because you see Simon, it isn't based on hatred, as much as you would like to think it is. The MC has been a labor of love. It isn't based on bigotry or malice. It is based on a genuine love for Mormons and mankind. I care deeply for Mormons who are struggling with their faith - and are looking for real answers that are defused by sites like FAIR - or worse, told to have faith, don't ask, and stay paying, praying and obeying. I care deeply for my countless Mormon neighbors of whom I have a very respective relationship - and I am grateful that they are nothing like you. I am not interested in pushing the MC or the information that it contains on any Mormon that does not wish to hear it. I don't bring it up in conversation. I sit side by side with Mormons and respect their belief. If they are not interested, I'm not interested in helping. They can believe what they want to believe. But once they start down the road of questioning - I will be there for them. And I will show themthe MC - but I will always steer them towards people like you, like Lindsay, like DCP, like Meldrum - because I know that they will be abused at your hands and theirs, and they will come back looking for real answers.

I ultimately want to share the reality of what Mormonism is - and I do so through the lives and stories of real human beings. I am not out to convince anyone. The Mormon Curtain is a site like no other when it comes to exposing Mormonism. It is from the heart, and the hearts of thousands of posts. It shares intimate details of personal lives that were affected by Mormonism. It shares thousands of pieces of information concerning all aspects of the Mormon Corporation - and allows the reader to make honest decisions for themselves. This is something none of your Pro sites do - and will NOT do because the truth isn't what is important - the retention of members IS more important. The Mormon Curtain brings up the fact that there are 7 different versions of the First Vision™. It brings up the KEP, the Kirtland Bank - and a hell of a lot more - and allows the reader to make the decision for themselves. The Pro sites do not allow the reader to make any decision - and why? Because the decision has already been made.Start with the Church Is True - and attack the idea, the notion, the thought, and the author - and skip answering the real questions. Over 25% of 4200 of the articles are heartfelt messages of those struggling with Mormonism and their road to recovery. To coin a term used by your Corporation, what a blessing that is.

The MC isn't a canker or a cancer or an all out soul consummation. It is an act of kindness, of love, and of dedication. When I see an email from someone or a post on the EMF thanking me for opening their eyes, or helping to change their lives, for bringing peace and freedom? I am reaffirmed - I know that I am providing a service. I know I have helped someone recover.

Again I challenge you. Do even 5% of what I have done - for your church. Can you even accomplish 5% of what I have done for Mormons and Ex-Mormons? Can you? You never answer this question and I'm sure you won't. It is easier to sit on the outside rather than actually lend a hand.

Good luck with your mission to bash Ex-Mormons like myself. And keep up the good work Simon. I will send Mormons that have genuine questions about their church to the MC, but first I will send them to you and those like you.

From Taylor Hunt - ltaylorhunt@yahoo.com:

To whom no name is given to their wickedness:

I know that you KNOW there are endless amounts of errors, hypocrisy, misquoting, distortions, etc on your site, but yet you still place it online as fact. To even point it out is actually giving your comments some form of credibility, which it obviously deserves none. I also believe you KNOW the consequences for bearing false witness against the anointed of God. I really pity your soul in the day of judgment, but understand, Satan will not give you glory as you might think. You will be thrust down to the gulf of everlasting misery. You can however change and turn your life around. It would require you to go through a grand repentance process.

I sincerely hope you consider matters beyond this short life...for eternity is a long time,

Taylor
