MORMON WARDS AND STAKE CENTERS
Total Articles:

Mormons meet for worship in "Wards" and "Stake Centers". Wards are organized around Stake Centers. Mormons are not allowed to worship anywhere they want - they must go to the Ward they are assigned to. Mormons who do not obey this are not allowed to hold callings or positions. They must also pay their tithing to the Ward they were assigned to.

Mormon Wards split all the time. Those living on one side of the street suddenly find themselves in a different Ward, going to Church at a different time. This splits up friends and causes grief among Wardmembers. Ward members cannot go to any Ward they want, they must go to the Ward assigned to them. If they go to another Ward, they will not be able to hold any positions, not be able to pay tithing, and will be counseled to return to their own Wards.
This happened to us a number of times. And one time we were living on the wrong side of the street.
The final blow in this whole boondogle was in about 2003 or so. The lines had changed, we were on the wrong side of the street and were commanded to go to the new ward. We did. Had young kids at the time and the ward had very few children and a crappy youth program. We had no friends there. We went for quite a while and then April of the year decided to not go to church for a month. Guess what? No one called. We went back in May and then prepared for a trip to Europe. It was to be a month long excursion and a nice vacation for our whole family. While getting ready to go we had to find another troop that would allow our son to attend summer Scout camp with them since our ward's scout camp was while we were to be gone. It was another ward. We did not look into non-LDS troops.
So, we went to Europe. I was able to check email while gone and got one from the executive secretary saying the Bishop wanted to meet. We had decided we would not go back to that ward and told him we did not want to meet and were not coming back. When we got back to the states we started going to the ward where our son was to attend summer camp. Summer camp came and went and we kept going. Wr liked the people there. We finally had a meeting with the bishop inthe new ward and get this, he looked at me and said he didn't want any troublemakers in his ward. I told him we wanted a good program for the kids. He said we could keep attending and that he would take care of our kids but he would not stand up for us to get our records moved in to his ward and that he would not take our tithing or give us positions. I said fine.
We stayed with that ward till I was asked by the stake presidency to leave the church.
The Mormon Church is a corporation that is about money and control. It is not about helping people spiritually.
