APOLOGISTS
Apologists for the Mormon Church are those who devote time to defend the Mormon Church, doctrines, leaders and teachings.

FARMS and FAIR are the two main Mopologetic organisations devoted to defending Mormonism. Other Mopologists such as Jeff Lindsay are on the fringes of Mopology.

ARTICLES OF FAITH
A journalist once asked Joseph Smith exactly what Mormons believed. Smith wrote a document in response. They have since become The Articles of Faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

BAPTISM FOR THE DEAD
Mormons believe that a person who dies without baptism must wait in a Spiritual Prison until someone on earth does a baptism by proxy for them. They can then accept or reject that baptism. These baptisms are performed in Mormon temples.

BLACKS AND THE PRIESTHOOD
Prior to 1978, Mormon leaders forbid Blacks from holding the Mormon Priesthood. In 1978, due to mounting pressure from pending lawsuits concerning racism, Spencer W. Kimball suddenly received a revelation that Blacks could now enter the temple and hold the Mormon Priesthood. If the Mormon Church had not changed its views on Black people, it would have lost its Tax-Exempt 503(c) status - as pending litigation in several states in America was proceeding.

Today the Mormon Church flatly denies that it's revelation was based on loosing its Tax-Exempt 503(c) status - however a great deal of evidence exists showing that it did.

BLOOD ATONEMENT
Blood Atonement is a controversial doctrine taught by some early Latter-day Saint leaders, and expanded by Brigham Young, that within a theocracy, there are certain sins such as murder that requires that murderers "have their blood spilt upon the ground, that the smoke thereof might ascend to heaven as an offering for their sins" in order for the Atonement of Jesus fully operative in the repentance process.

BOOK OF ABRAHAM
The Book Of Abraham is a book created by Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith purchased some papyrus that was found with an Egyptian mummy. Joseph claimed that the papyrus contained the Book of Abraham and thus created the "Pearl Of Great Price". Modern day Egyptologists have translated the Joseph Smith Papyrus Facsimiles, as well as other documents that did not make it into the facsimiles - but were part of the original collection of Papyri. Their conclusion: The documents are entirely different from what Joseph Smith said.

BOOK OF MORMON - SECTION 1
In 1820 Joseph Smith claimed that he saw God and Jesus Christ. The two were floating above him in the air and looked identical. Joseph alleges that Jesus Christ told him about buried golden plates wherein the history of Ancient Americans was contained. In due time Joseph retrieved the plates and translated them into the "Book Of Mormon". Mormons consider the Book Of Mormon to be the most correct book on earth.

BOOK OF MORMON EVIDENCES
The Book Of Mormon states that there were horses, elephants, steel, tin, wheat, barley, bows, arrows, slings, chariots and more - during the time that the “Nephites” and “Lamaites” lived on the American continents. Modern day archeologists, geologists, paleontologists and scientists have found absolutely no evidence that any Book of Mormon animals or items ever existed. Mormon Apologists continue to place together every little fact they can to prove the Book of Mormon is true. This topic covers the attempts by Mormon Apologists who go to great lengths to obscure, convolute, invent and otherwise distort history to fit their agenda.

BOOK OF MORMON GEOGRAPHY
Recently, the Mormon Apologist organization "FARMS" has created what is called the “Limited Geography Theory” to explain why absolutely -zero- archeological evidence has been found to support the Book Of Mormon history. FARMS apologists such as Daniel C. Peterson have come up with multiple Hill Cumorah theories to explain why no evidence of ancient wars was found around the Hill Cumorah located in upstate New York. This topic covers the ludicrous ideas created by Mormon Apologetic organizations that create facts to support their conclusions.

BOY SCOUTS
Mormonism has morphed the Boy Scouts into a religious organization in which they use to indoctrinate the young men into a lifetime of church membership. Awards and rewards are based on Mormon Priesthood rules and regulations. More emphasis is placed on indoctrination and obedience to the Mormon Gospel. Young men are accelerated through the program faster than boys outside the Mormon controlled BSA. Mormon boys can receive an Eagle Award simply by placing bags on neighbor doors to collect food for homeless shelters.

Women are not allowed to participate (except as "Den Mother") - in fact, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints does not have a Girl Scouting program.

BOYD K. PACKER
Boyd K. Packer, Apostle of the LDS Church and next in line in succession to the Prophet. A megalomaniac, Packer demands that everyone stand when he enters the room and finishes eating when he is finished eating. A man for whom the truth is utterly expendable - he asks that Mormons lie about their testimonies until they have one. A hater of intellectuals and feminists - he called the penis a "little factory" that must not be touched and admonished members to tie their hands to bedposts to stop masturbating. Packer ordered the excommunication of Michael Quinn.

BRIGHAM YOUNG
Brigham Young was the 2nd prophet of the LDS Church, serving as president from 1847 to 1877. Known as the "Lion Of The Lord", he was a polygamist who taught that Adam was God. Most of his teaches are dismissed.
Total Topics: 16
BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY
Brigham Young University is owned by the LDS Church. BYU is known as the "Zoo" and a place where young Mormons go to get married. Women are taught that the education they receive is to be used only in teaching their children and not for their own careers.

BRUCE R. MCCONKIE
Bruce R. (Redd) McConkie (1915-1985) Mormon Apostle from 1972 to 1985, famous for his book "Mormon Doctrine". A very racist man against blacks and minorities, and a man who passionately hated other churches, specifically the Catholic Church. In 1958 he wrote, "It is also to the Book of Mormon to which we turn for the plainest description of the Catholic Church as the great and abominable church." (Mormon Doctrine, p. 130, 1958 edition).
Total Topics: 6
CALLINGS
In addition to regular church work Mormons are given what are called "Callings". These callings can be teaching the primary children, Elders Quorum President, Bishops, and even janitors.

When particular positions are necessary to fill in the local Mormon Wards, Mormon authority figures meet and decide who will best fit that position. A calling is then extended to that Mormon member and the member may choose whether or not to accept the calling.

Mormons are taught that rejecting callings is the same as rejecting Jesus Christ.

In recent years the Mormon Church has been laying off paid workers who clean Mormon Ward Houses and Church Office Buildings - and replacing them with callings - a source of free labor.

CATHOLIC CHURCH
Mormonism views the Catholic Church as the "Great and Abominable Church." "It is also to the Book of Mormon to which we turn for the plainest description of the Catholic Church as the great and abominable church. Nephi saw this 'church which is the most abominable above all other churches' in vision. He 'saw the devil that he was the foundation of it' and also the murders, wealth, harlotry, persecutions, and evil desires that historically have been a part of this satanic organization. (1 Nephi 13:1-10)" - Mormon Doctrine, p. 130 (1958)

CHILDREN AND MORMONISM
Indoctrination in Mormonism begins in early childhood. Mormon children are taught that they must obey all the commandments. They are taught that it may sometimes be difficult, but this life is a testing place. Temptations must be overcome, and a good Mormon will be able to overcome them. If you obey priesthood authority, attend church, study the scriptures, pay a full ten percent tithing, avoid people and places where you might find temptation, then you will be able to keep all the commandments. If you are not able to keep all the commandments, then it is because you have failed to protect yourself from temptation. You have done something wrong. You have allowed yourself to have a sinful thought. You have not prayed enough. You have not read the scriptures enough. You must repent and hope that you will not sin again.

CHUCH TEACHING MANUALS
The Mormon Church creates a single manual that all Mormons must be taught by. Each lesson is carefully sanitized to hide the embarrassing reality of Church history. Polygamist prophets from the past are cleaned up to appear as if they had only one wife. Embarrassing history is completely omitted. These manuals are further indoctrination tools.

CHURCH PROPAGANDA
This topic covers Church Propaganda. This includes Church teaching manuals and other manuals published by Intellectual Reserve Inc. These manuals generally gloss over Church history in a "Faith Promoting" way, leaving out things such as Polygamy, Polyandry - or anything else that is embarrassing to the Church.
Total Topics: 1
CHURCH PUBLISHED MAGAZINES
Articles surrounding the LDS Church published magazines "The Ensign", "New Era" and "Friend". These magazines are "Faith Promoting Material" that all Mormons are counseled to read and keep a continued subscription - a subscription that is in addition to their tithing.

COGNITIVE DISSONANCE
Cognitive dissonance is a state of opposition between cognitions. For the purpose of cognitive consistency theory, cognitions are defined as being an attitude, emotion, belief or value, or even a mixture of these. In brief, the theory of cognitive dissonance holds that contradicting cognitions serve as a driving force that compels the human mind to acquire or invent new thoughts or beliefs, or to modify existing beliefs, so as to minimize the amount of dissonance (conflict) between cognitions.

DANIEL C. PETERSON
Daniel C. Peterson is a Mopologist (Mormon Apologist). He is paid indirectly by the Mormon Church to publish articles and reviews on the Brigham Young University Website called "FARMS" (now known as the NEAL A. MAXWELL INSTITUTE). Daniel is a professor at the Mormon owned Brigham Young University. He spends countless hours writing apologetic material for the LDS Corporation and posting on the apologetic FAIR/MAAD boards.

Daniel C. Peterson is also an admitted "Agent" for the Strengthening Church Members Committee (SCMC). The SCMC is a secret organization within the LDS Church whose mission is to keep tabs on Mormons who are disobedient.

He is not to be trusted under any circumstances as he will zealously defend Mormonism by any means.

DANITES
The Danites comprised most of the 400 or so Mormon men who surrendered along with Smith and Rigdon to state militia forces at Far West. Smith, Rigdon, and several other Danite leaders were arrested, and spent the next few months in jail awaiting trial on treason and murder charges. Most of the other 15,000 or so Mormons, having been banished from Missouri, settled near Quincy, Illinois. Meaning, Smith didn't "disband the maverick body"; rather, the Danites were disbanded because they were either in jail or had moved to Illinois. Many former Missouri-period Danites later became Nauvoo policemen, Joseph Smith's bodyguards, or Nauvoo Legionnaries. Meaning, rather than being "maverick" or outcasts, they were among Smith's most trusted and loyal followers.

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization in Canberra, Australia, has concluded along with many other scientists studying mitochondria DNA lines that American Indians and Polynesians are of Asian extraction. DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
During the time that Joseph Smith lived, he allegedly received direct revelation from Jesus Christ wherein Jesus Christ allegedly spoke to him. After the fact, Joseph wrote down word for word in his journals. These journals were later converted into the “History Of The Church” for which the Doctrine And Covenants were created. Since Joseph Smith died, no new “direct revelation” has been posted showing that no other prophet, past or present, has had divine revelation that the LDS Church has published. In addition, much of the earlier "revelations" that Joseph Smith received have been altered or deleted to fit with today's standards.

EXCOMMUNICATION AND COURTS OF LOVE
Those who are excommunicated are no longer in "good standing" with the LDS Church. Persons that are excommunicated are no longer able to participate in any Mormon Church function, including praying, teaching or holding any office. The Mormon priesthood is taken away and all "blessings", rights and Temple privileges are taken away. Excommunicated members are not allowed to pay tithing however the church does not exempt them from paying tithing. Excommunicated members are further ostracized in Mormon Sacrament Meetings where they are forbidden to take the Sacramental offerings - or even speak vocally. Because of this, excommunicated persons are punished further in the eyes of other church members.

FACIAL HAIR
Mormons are counseled not to have facial hair. Mormon temple workers are not allowed to have facial hair and are not allowed inside the temple with any facial hair. While there is no official doctrine on the matter found in the Church Handbook Of Instructions, Mormons are continually commanded by their local authorities to be clean-shaven and to wear white shirts.

Because facial hair comes up so often in Recovery from Mormonism, a topic has been created for it.

The issue is not about facial hair, the issue is about obedience.

FIRST VISION
The Mormon Church relies and heavily uses what is referred to as the “First Vision.” The First Vision is an account of Joseph Smith, a 14 year old boy, who puzzled over which church to join, knelt in a grove of trees in 1820 and prayed for an answer. According to the Mormon Church First Vision, God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and told him that all churches were corrupt and that Joseph would be called to bring forth the “True Church Of God.” The Mormon Church continues to publish and preach this version of the First Vision to current membership and to potential converts.

FOOD STORAGE
Mormonism is a dooms-day-cult, meaning, it continually preaches that the end is near and that Jesus Christ will come to destroy all of the wicked and only the saints and a few “righteous” persons will be left. In the beginning, the Mormon Church taught that every Mormon should have food storage to prepare for the second coming of Christ. Near the middle of 1900s, the Mormon Church changed the amount of the food storage to two years. Several decades later it was changed to one year. Today, the food storage is three months.

Mormons are lead to believe that the garments have "magical properties" and can save them from bullets, fire and accidents. Many faith-promoting rumors are spread throughout the church about the saving powers of the garments - even though not a single rumor can be proven.

HOMOSEXUALITY IN MORMONISM
Mormonism does not tolerate gays and lesbians. Any Mormon member that confesses homosexuality is automatically forced to appear in front of Church Courts. These Courts then decide whether the homosexual transgressions merit either excommunication or dis-fellowshipping. Mormons who have practiced homosexual intercourse with the same sex are automatically excommunicated. Mormonism may claim they love homosexuals and their "problems", but the truth is that there are no homosexual Mormons, only homosexuals pretending to be Mormons.
